Business Continuity Contacts
Please designate a person or persons at your organization to be in charge of communication with the Federal Reserve should a business disruption occur. The contacts are important to the successful implementation of the Federal Reserve's business continuity plan.
The designated contact person for your institution should be familiar with your operations and with your electronic connections to the Federal Reserve. During a disruption, the contact should be able to receive our broadcast fax messages, effectively handle other information presented by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and disseminate it to all appropriate parties at your financial institution.

Cash Services
In the Event of a Business Disruption at the Federal Reserve
Federal Reserve Cash Services maintains comprehensive business continuity plans that will be activated in the event of a business disruption. The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's business continuity plans are aligned with those of other Federal Reserve Districts to support continuity of service. If the normal provision of cash services is impaired, the Seventh District will notify its customers by placing messages on FedPhone and FedLine Web.
Accessing Federal Reserve Cash Services
If your normal currency and coin ordering channels (e.g., FedLine Web and FedPhone) are unavailable, you can also place orders by contacting your local Federal Reserve office via telephone. Please see contact numbers provided below.
If a Seventh District Fed office becomes inaccessible for an extended period of time, your financial institution may be directed to place orders with other Federal Reserve offices. You may also be informed about restrictions on currency and coin orders and deposits, and may be directed to alternative pick-up and delivery points.

In the Event of a Business Disruption at the Federal Reserve
During a business disruption, Federal Reserve staff will work to ensure the highest possible level of service for our customers. Successful operations will require preparation, coordination and cooperation between your institution and Federal Reserve staff. Answers to your critical questions about local Federal Reserve Check Services continuity procedures are provided below. In combination, this information should be used for your institution's business continuity planning.
How Will the Federal Reserve Contact Us During a Business Disruption?
In the event of a business disruption, 7th District staff will have various means of contacting institutions, depending upon which 7th District office serves you.
Chicago/Midway - Including the Milwaukee and Peoria Territories
Institutions that utilize FedLine on the Web for their check services will receive notification via broadcast fax and/or email detailing the situation and, if necessary, what alternatives for shipping/drop points for deposits are available. If you do not use FedLine for check services, you will receive notification via fax and/or email. When appropriate, a contact number will be included in the communication.
Des Moines - Including the Omaha Territory
Institutions that utilize FedLine on the Web for their check services will receive notification via broadcast fax and/or email detailing the situation and, if necessary, what alternatives for shipping/drop points for deposits are available. If you do not use FedLine for check services, you will receive notification via fax and/or email. When appropriate, a contact number will be included in the communication.
How Can We Obtain information on Shipping/Drop Points for Deposits During a Business Disruption?
If alternative drop points or schedules are established, you will be notified via the communication methods mentioned above.
