Elizabeth A. Knospe is senior vice president and general counsel for the Chicago Fed. She leads the Bank's Legal department and provides a wide variety of strategic legal support to the Bank. In addition, she oversees the Bank's Enterprise Risk Management efforts and is a member of the Management Committee.

Before assuming her current position, she was vice president and associate general counsel for the Chicago Fed, and handled ongoing interaction with Human Resources on policy issues as well as handling District and System legal issues. Previously, she was assistant vice president and assistant general counsel. She began her career at the Chicago Fed in 1986 as a staff attorney.

Knospe received a bachelor's degree in French from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, and a J. D. from Chicago Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
