Elizabeth A. Knospe is senior vice president and general counsel for the Chicago Fed. She leads the Bank's Legal Department and Office of the Directors and provides a wide variety of strategic legal support to the Bank. In addition, she oversees the Bank's Enterprise Risk Management efforts, Business Continuity Office and Law Enforcement Units. She is also a member of the Management Committee.
Before assuming her current position, she was vice president and associate general counsel for the Chicago Fed, and handled a variety of legal matters including payments issues and empoyment matters. Previously, she was assistant vice president and assistant general counsel. She began her career at the Chicago Fed in 1986 as a staff attorney.
Knospe received a bachelor's degree in French from Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, and a J. D. from Chicago Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
