Senior Vice President and Branch Manager - District Operations and Detroit Branch


Bob Wiley is the senior vice president of Seventh District operations and manager of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's Detroit Branch. His responsibilities include the Seventh District's check, cash and electronic payments operations as well as the marketing, business development and customer support functions. He is also a member of the Bank's Management Committee.

Prior to joining the Chicago Fed, Wiley was a group vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (Twelfth District) responsible for district check operations. Before that, he served as vice president of operations and was responsible for the Cash and Payments Services in the Los Angeles Branch of the San Francisco Fed.

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Wiley was a division manager at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco. He was with Wells Fargo Bank from 1990 through 1996, serving in several leadership and official positions, including ATM Operations, Retail Sales, General Ledger Accounting, and Automated Film Retrieval.

Wiley also worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco from 1985 to 1990, where he served in various managerial positions, including Audit and Check Processing. Before that, he was with the accounting firm Arthur Anderson from 1982 through 1985.

He earned his bachelor's degree in economics and English from Saint Mary's College in California. He later earned his master's degree in business administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley.
