Board Nominees Approved
The Board announced in a press release the Senate confirmation of Ben S. Bernanke and Donald L. Kohn to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Dr. Bernanke's term expires January 31, 2004 and Dr. Kohn's term expires January 31, 2016.

Data on Lending Covered by CRA and HMDA Now Available
The FFIEC announced the availability of 2001 CRA data on small business, small farm, and community development lending reported by commercial banks and thrifts. The FFIEC also announced the publication of the 2001 HMDA data on mortgage lending transactions throughout the nation.

SEC Proposes Rule on Disclosure Certification of Financial Reports
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued a proposed rule to implement the provision of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act that requires the chief executive officer and the chief financial officer of public companies to personally certify that the reports filed with the SEC are both accurate and complete.
