Board Proposes to Expand Operating Hours for On-Line Fedwire Service
The Board issued a press release requesting comment on a proposal to open the Fedwire Funds Service 3 1/2 hours earlier or at 9:00 p.m. ET instead of the current opening time of 12:30 a.m. ET. The closing time would remain unchanged at 6:30 p.m. ET. The change is intended to improve efficiency and reduce risk in making payments and settlements.
Board Requests Comment on Proposed Reg Z Staff Commentary Revisions
The Board is requesting comment on proposed revisions (PDF) to the official Regulation Z staff commentary. The revisions include certain credit card-related fees and the rules for replacing a credit card with one or more cards, as well as private mortgage insurance premium disclosures and the selection of Treasury security yields.
Comments on the proposal are due by January 23, 2003. Written comments should refer to docket number R-1136 and be mailed to Ms. Jennifer J. Johnson, Secretary, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, 20th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20551. Comments may also be e-mailed to regs.comments@federalreserve.gov. Comment is requested by January 23, 2003.
