Interagency Advisory on Use of Discount Window in Effective Liquidity Management
In SR 03-15 , the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Office of Thrift Supervision, and the National Credit Union Administration issued an Interagency Advisory on the Use of the Federal Reserve's Primary Credit Program in Effective Liquidity Management. This interagency advisory offers information on the new Federal Reserve primary and secondary discount window programs and provides guidance on the appropriate use of primary credit in an effective liquidity management program.
Board Releases Latest Version of Beige Book
In the latest Beige Book, Chicago, St. Louis, and San Francisco characterized economic activity as sluggish, while Atlanta described conditions as mixed. Reports from the remaining districts suggested somewhat stronger growth in the weeks since the last report. Details are available in the full report , including individual Reserve Bank summaries.
FinCEN Adds New Q&A to SAR Filing FAQs
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network recently added another question to its FAQs. Question 20 concerns how to file a Suspicious Activity Report. FinCEN listed various publications to consult and said the upcoming fall issue of the "SAR Activity Review--Trends, Tips and Issues" will include more guidance on how to write a SAR narrative.
