Board Extends Comment Period on Statement Concerning Complex Structured Finance Activities
In a press release, the five federal regulatory agencies announced that they have extended the comment period for the Interagency Statement on Sound Practices Concerning Complex Structured Finance Activities. Comments must be received by July 19, 2004.

Board Releases Latest Beige Book
In the latest release of the Beige Book, all districts indicate that economy activity continues to expand. Reports on retail sales were generally positive in most districts. Strong sales growth was reported in New York, Philadelphia, and Atlanta. Slight to moderate increases were reported in San Francisco, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Richmond, and Chicago. Manufacturing activity increased in all districts during April and May. Boston, New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, and San Francisco reported increasing employment.
