The Board, in consultation with the other federal banking agencies and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), has issued responses to questions frequently asked by financial institutions regarding the applicability of the Bank Secrecy Act in providing services to victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Board Publishes Proposal to Expand Definition of Small Bank Holding Companyoffsite link
In a press release, the Federal Reserve Board proposed expanding the definition of a small bank holding company under the Board's Small Bank Holding Company Policy and the Board's risk-based capital guidelines. Comments are requested within sixty days of publication in the Federal Register, which is expected shortly.
