Board Releases Senior Loan Officer Survey Results
The April 2006 Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey on Bank Lending Practices addressed changes in the supply of, and demand for, bank loans to businesses and households over the past three months. The survey also contained a set of special questions on the minimum required payment on outstanding credit card balances of individuals and households.
FinCEN Extends Deadline on Money Services Businesses
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) will provide more time for banks and money services businesses to comment on how successful money businesses have been in obtaining access to banking services. The comment period was originally due to expire on May 9 and now will close on July 10. FinCEN said money services businesses have encountered obstacles to creating or maintaining deposit accounts at banks. The agency is seeking recommendations for additional guidance or regulatory action under the Bank Secrecy Act to address concerns.
