Board to Hold Four Public Hearings on Home Equity Lending Market
The Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA), enacted in response to reports of predatory home equity lending practices in underserved markets, directs the Board to hold periodic meetings on the subject. Earlier this week, the Board extended an invitation to interested parties to participate in upcoming public hearings.

Public Commented Requested on Access to Banking Services by Money Services Businesses
The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) is seeking public comment on an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) regarding the impact of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) regulations on the ability of money services businesses (MSBs) to open and maintain accounts and obtain other banking services at banks and other depository institutions.
