Foreclosure prevention efforts can reduce a distressed family's anxiety when the assistance is from a legitimate source. These seminars will offer an overview of the foreclosure crisis, federal and state regulations, enforcement, consumer protection and resources in the community that offer credible assistance.
The programs will be of interest to community leaders from faith-based organizations, neighborhood groups, social service agencies, government programs and others who serve consumers and who wish to increase their awareness of consumer credit rights, mortgage fraud and foreclosure rescue schemes.

Strategies for Serving the Unbanked: Finding Opportunities in Untapped Markets

The Memphis Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is sponsoring a meeting for representatives of financial institutions and credit unions who are interested in learning new strategies for serving the unbanked. Those attending will hear about the success of Bank On initiatives and other outreach efforts to help the unbanked achieve financial stability. The meeting will also explore new opportunities to obtain CRA credit and serve emerging markets.

Trends and Innovations in Rental Housing: A Neighborhood Stabilization Strategy

As homeownership eludes more and more people, rental housing is becoming a vital, yet uniquely challenging, component of community development. This one-day symposium will look at innovative strategies and current trends in rental housing that are proving effective both for neighborhood stabilization and individual asset development. The event is sponsored by the Little Rock Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
Symposium topics will include Low Income Housing Tax Credits; the role of private-nonprofit partnerships; innovative asset development strategies; and rural rental housing.

country understand credit in today's economy and how they implement

CBA challenges asset building practitioners to rethink credit and

that can be immediately implemented in practice.
Training Goals
- Better understand today's credit economy, specifically with
respect to the underbanked
- Learn an asset-based approach to working with credit
- Access credit reports and scores with and for your clients
- Measure financial education outcomes and self sufficiency with
credit reports

Mortgage Foreclosure Policy: Past, Present and Future

This timely and interactive two-day conference will bring together nationally recognized practitioners, researchers and policymakers to discuss the evolution, current impact, and likely outcomes of the foreclosure crisis on home owners, lenders, housing counseling agencies, the secondary market, regulators, and all levels of government.
The conference audience will comprise of community development professionals, financial industry representatives, attorneys, researchers, secondary market specialists, policymakers; and representatives of government agencies and foundations. We are experiencing great interest in the conference, so early registration is greatly encouraged.
The registration fee for this event is $75.00 ($50.00 for nonprofit organizations), and includes continental breakfast and lunch on both days as well as conference materials. Conference registration and payment deadline is Monday, December 7. Refunds are not available for this event.
