Consumer Sciences Extension & Outreach
The Ohio State University's Extension and Outreach Program in the department of Consumer Sciences provides research and educational programming about the consumer/industry interface in the fields of Family Resource Management, Hospitality Management , and Textiles & Clothing. Through its teaching, research and service activities, the department addresses issues related to meeting consumer needs through customer service, and the acquisition and provision of products and service products in the marketplace - food, clothing, textiles, shelter and financial services.
Money 2000+
MONEY 2000+ is a financial planning program offered by Ohio State University Extension in cooperation with the Department of Consumer & Textile Sciences at the Ohio State University. This program will teach participants how to keep track of spending, control debt and set personal goals, as well as help them handle financial emergencies, reduce the stress of unpaid bills and help them feel more secure about their future.
University of Illinois Extension
University of Illinois Extension has an extensive list and links of educational resources. Their Consumer and Family Economics Web site provides timely educational information to help individuals and families make informed consumer and financial decisions. Some topics include credit, disaster preparedness and recovery, health care decisions, housing decisions, money management, retirement planning, and smart shopping. For each topic, there is a link with extensive relevant resources and educational materials.
