Ben Franklin Speaks in Support of MSW Indiana

Indiana Money Smart Week 2007

Money Smart Week Indiana was held October 13-20, 2007. The Detroit Branch of the Federal Reserve bank of Chicago, along with dozens of local organizations, banks, credit unions, goverment agencies and non-profit organizations will present a week of events and classes aimed at helping consumers make informed choices when managing their personal finances.

Indiana 2006 Inaugural Money Smart Week

Indiana's first annual Money Smart Week was October 15-21, 2006. The Detroit Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, along with dozens of local organizations joined together to continue the annual event of Money Smart Week. The goal is to provide free education aimed primarily at the elderly, unbanked, and youth. Although financial illiteracy isn't limited to these demographics, they are the most likely to over-extend their credit, make poor financial choices and become victims of identity theft. The program hopes to change this.

Advisory Council Members Praise Money Smart Week

The Money Smart Week story and experience is captured on film through the eyes of partnering organizations as they share their thoughts on the campaign as well as their level of involvement. In addition, founding father and statesman, Ben Franklin offers his own insight and wisdom on being financially fit. The video was produced by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and debuted at the kick-off breakfasts held on October 16th for the Money Smart Week partners and community leaders in Indiana.
