MSW Grows in 2008

Money Smart Week continued to grow in 2008. MSW events were designed for all ages and backgrounds and included everything from teaching children how to save to helping seniors manage their finances. Some highlights were:

  • 105 organizations participated—a more than 20% increase in organizations
  • 125 classes were held—a 20% increase in number of events
  • 150 supporters attended the MSW Kickoff event, up from 125 a year earlier
  • More than 20 media outlets—TV, radio & print— covered MSW events
  • The mayors of Fort Wayne, Hammond & Gary issued MSW proclamations

Events were held statewide, with some being offered or advertised in Spanish. We also were fortunate to have Indiana's First Lady and Secretary of State along with representatives of local government, business and nonprofit organizations with us at our Kickoff events. To learn more about our 2008 events and get an idea of what might be in store for 2009, take a look at the complete annual report (PDF, 1.91MB).
