2010 Money Smart Week Dates Announced

Money Smart Week (MSW) Michigan is April 10–17, 2010! The MSW events offer a wide variety of options. There are money fairs for everyone and classroom activities teaching kids to save. Some are designed to help young adults manage their first paycheck and others to help seniors manage their pensions. Watch this site for news of the events that will be coming to you in 2010.

Money Smart Week 2009

The Detroit Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, along with 140 local organizations, hosted the sixth annual Money Smart Week on April 18–25, 2009. The week kicked off with the MSW Kick-Off Breakfast on April 20 that featured represenatives from WDIV-TV Channel 4, Huntington Bank and DFCU Financial. This year there were more than 300, mostly free, events about money management for all ages. One of the new features was the "Savings Is Cool" rap contest for elementary school students, sponsored by Extra Credit Union.
