Newspaper in Education

Project Money Smart (Newspaper in Education)

You can get newspapers for your classroom - at no cost to you - as well as a curriculum to help you teach basic economic concepts.

Using the convenience of a daily newspaper, this program fosters innovative ways to introduce the economics of making, spending, and saving money. Program participants receive class sets of newspapers, a curriculum guide, and an activity guide geared at using the newspaper in the classroom.

All participating teachers will be invited to a hands-on workshop where they will receive:

  • master lessons designed for use across the curriculum
  • inventive methods of using the newspaper in daily lesson plans.
