Sixth Annual Summit on Regional Competitiveness: Understanding Competitiveness and a Call to Action
Transformative investments are happening in our mega-region. Hear first-hand from decision-makers in the private sector, government, and academia, and have your questions answered at this year’s invitation-only Summit on Regional Competitiveness!
The Sixth Annual Summit of Regional Competitiveness was held on October 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., hosted at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in partnership with the Alliance for Regional Development.
The Milwaukee-Chicago-Northwest Indiana corridor is an economic powerhouse and regional collaboration benefits across state lines. There are best practices to share, thought leaders to hear from, networking opportunities, and exciting initiatives to embrace.
The program gave highlights, including insights on:
- U.S. Steel’s $750 million investment in its Gary, Indiana, plant
- Foxconn, the world's largest contract maker of electronics with its U.S. plant in Racine, Wisconsin
- Lessons learned over the past 25 years from the opening and subsequent expansion of the BMW Manufacturing Company in South Carolina and how our mega-region can benefit from a supply chain cluster strategy
- Doing business in the twenty-first century’s global economy and how recent national policies are impacting businesses
Each year, the Summit serves as an important event for regional stakeholders to meet, network, and identify areas for collaboration.
