Biography

Ed Nosal is a vice president and senior financial economist of the financial markets group of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Prior to joining the group, he was a vice president in the economic research department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. His research focuses on fundamental issues related to money, banking and payments.

Nosal's research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Economic Theory, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Finance and the Review of Economic Studies.

Before coming to the Federal Reserve System, Nosal was on the faculty of the economics department at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is currently an adjunct professor of finance at the University of Chicago.

Nosal received a B.A. from Queen's University, M.A. from McMaster University, and Ph.D. degree in economics from Queen's University.
