The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and DePaul University's Center for Financial Services hosted our second annual Financial Institutions Risk Management Conference. The event, held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago on April 14 and 15, targeted financial practitioners, academics and regulators.
This year's program focused on how the rapidly shifting financial and economic environment is changing the way risk is being managed. Keynote speakers included:
- Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President Charles L. Evans
- Former FDIC Chairman William M. Isaac
- Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Gary H. Stern
Panel discussions focused on lessons learned, the role of capital in providing risk discipline and the systemic risk presented by institutions that are "too big to fail."
In addition, a special Bankers Only session was held after the conference on the afternoon of April 15.
