The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago began partnering with the American Library Association (ALA) in 2011 as part of the expansion of Money Smart Week®. Member libraries are invited to participate during the scheduled week through state planning teams. If no state planning team exists they are encouraged to participate independently through Money Smart Week @ your library.

Webinars and Presentations
The ALA and the Federal Reserve of Chicago are planning to host a number of webinars, and in-person presentations at number of state association conferences this fall. Join hundreds of other libraries around the country next spring in this ALA national initiative to provide programming in the critical area of financial literacy, all types of libraries can participate.
Put in on your April calendar, and watch the ‘how to’ webinar that took place on October 26. The Webinar provides ideas and suggestions from librarians who have already created successful Money Smart Week @ your library programming.

After a successful second year in 2012, with libraries in 39 states participating, the American Library Association is again partnering with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago for Money Smart Week @ Your Library in 2013.
Money Smart Week’s mission is to promote personal financial literacy. Libraries of all types have participated in Money Smart Week, partnering with community groups, financial institutions, government agencies, educational organizations and other financial experts to help consumers learn to better manage their personal finances.
So join the growing number of libraries across your state and across the country that are promoting financial literacy during April next year. Money Smart Week @ Your Library coincides with National Financial Literacy Month.
