The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the Illinois Asset Building Group on October 4, 2007 joined for a discussion on Advancing Asset Policy in Illinois. Advocates, policymakers, financial institutions, regulators, community leaders, researchers, and others discussed implications and use of the 2007 Assets & Opportunity Scorecard for advancing asset policies in Illinois, learned about children’s savings accounts and other asset policies, and participated in communications training.

In addition, the Consumer and Community Affairs department at the Chicago Fed will discuss recent findings from focus groups looking at the relationship between insurance, financial access, and wealth building⁄preservation for financially underserved customers.
