Nancy J. Guyott

Nancy J. Guyott formerly served on our Advisory Council on Agriculture, Small Business and Labor. She was first elected president on December 8, 2009, becoming the first female president of the Indiana State Federation and the youngest president to serve in nearly 50 years. Prior to that, she had served as the executive director and counsel of the Indiana State AFL-CIO for several years. Guyott spent most of her career at the Indiana Department of Labor, having begun as an intern completing law school. She rose through the ranks at the Indiana Department of Labor serving consecutively as intern, staff counsel, chief counsel and chief deputy commissioner. She was the first female and also youngest Commissioner of Labor to serve the State of Indiana. Guyott is a member of the United Steelworkers and AFSCME. She is a graduate of Harvard College and of Indiana University School of Law at Bloomington.
