New Data on Mortgage Lending

Much of the recent research on mortgage lending relies on data from the 1990 Census and the reports compiled under the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). The advantage of these data is that their content and geographic coverage are relatively comprehensive, making them useful for identifying overall trends and patterns.
