SNC Results Announced
The bank regulatory agencies and the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) announced results of the 2007 Shared National Credit (SNC) Review program on Sept. 25. The volume of credits covered by the program increased 21 percent compared to 2006. Asset quality was considered satisfactory, with the volume of criticized assets remaining low by historical standards at 5.0 percent of total commitments. A concurrent review of underwriting standards found some weakening of underwriting in the syndicated lending market.
