Biography

Eric French is a senior economist in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. French provides research and analysis in the areas of econometrics, labor and health economics.

French's research has been published in the Review of Economic Studies, Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Labor Economics, Journal of Applied Econometrics, and Journal of Human Resources and is featured in Chicago Fed research publications, including Economic Perspectives and Chicago Fed Letter. He has taught at the Department of Economics at Northwestern University.

French received a B.A. in economics from the University of California–Berkeley, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

He is on leave at the Social Security Administration from August 2008 through June 2009.
