Luke Cain is a research assistant in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He is a social-scientist-in-training with interests spanning economics, policy, and political science. He works on the policy team, relaying the bank's research as well as economic developments to various audiences. In addition, he is engaged in research projects with the micro team. Cain's primary area of interest, which he intends to pursue in graduate school, is the structure and incentive landscapes of American bureaucracies, with a special focus on bureaucratic discretion.
