Midwest Manufacturing Output Falls in August
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) fell 0.8% in August to a seasonally
adjusted level of 150.2 (1992=100). Revised data show the index was at 151.4 in July, a
decrease of 0.1% from June. The Federal Reserve Board.s industrial production index for
manufacturing (IPMFG) was down 0.1% in August after rising 0.3% in July. August output
in the region was 0.2% higher than a year earlier, while output in the nation was 0.6%
higher.
