Midwest Manufacturing Output is Down in April
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) decreased 1.7% in April, to a
seasonally adjusted level of 105.7 (2002 = 100). Revised data show the index decreased 0.5%
in March, to 107.5. The Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index for manufacturing
(IPMFG) was down 0.8% in April. Regional output in April was 2.1% lower than a year
earlier, below the 0.1% decrease in national output.
