DETROIT LAW ENFORCEMENT UNIT
Law Enforcement
  • Where are you from?

    Macomb County, MI

  • What is your educational background?

I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Madonna University with a Certificate of Completion in Homeland Security.

  • When did you start at the Bank?

    2012

  • What do you do at the Bank?

I’m one of two Explosive Detection K-9 Officers here at the Federal Reserve Bank in Detroit. My partner’s name is Gajo and he is a German Shepherd from the Netherlands who was born in July of 2012. Our duties include screening incoming traffic through our Vehicle Inspection Facility, screening mail and packages going to the main building, and conducting random explosive detection sweeps of the building, parking lot, and surrounding property of the Bank. We also assist various local, state, and federal agencies with explosive detection sweeps and bomb threats throughout Metro Detroit. You may have seen us at Ford Field for a Detroit Lion’s game or at the North American International Auto Show making sure it’s a safe environment for the public!

  • Why do you like working here?

I get to play with a dog all day, who wouldn’t enjoy that!

  • “On a more serious note, the Federal Reserve has given me many opportunities to further my career and fully supports my desire to become the best K-9 Officer I can be.”
  • I also have a great support system within the department that does the best they can with helping me achieve my goals, which is very important to me.

  • Why is the Fed a good place to work?

The Federal Reserve Bank believes in its employees and offers great opportunities if you are willing to work for them. They offer remarkable benefits and understand the work/life balance.

  • What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy going to escape rooms, exercising with Gajo, spending time with friends and family, playing video games, going to the shooting range, and continuing my education in any way I can.

  • What is your favorite quote or saying?

"The great pleasure of a dog is that you may make a fool of yourself with him and not only will he not scold you, but he will make a fool of himself too." — Samuel Butler
