Supervision and Regulation Department

The Supervision and Regulation (S&R) department seeks to promote a safe, sound and stable banking and financial system that supports the growth and stability of the U.S. economy. S&R supervises and regulates state member banks, bank holding companies and foreign banking organizations within the Seventh District (most of Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin and all of Iowa).

Examiners assess the financial condition and management of financial institutions. Much of the work requires travel (up to 50 percent of the time), as examiners determine if the firms are complying with laws, regulations and guidance that have been established to protect borrowers, depositors and the financial system as a whole.
Risk Management Specialists
By conducting highly detailed analysis of regional economies, banking sectors and the nation’s financial system, risk specialists are subject-matter experts who provide insight on emerging risks and challenges.
Quantitative specialists use advanced quantitative skills to design, develop, assess and implement complex risk measurement models. They also provide assessments of financial institutions to determine risk exposure.
We have a variety of analysts who support the supervisory process or focus on the department’s business and operational strategies. These individuals conduct analysis, perform research, and develop and generate analytical tools.
Other Business Professionals
We also have opportunities for professionals who specialize in information technology, business analytics, communications and other support functions. Roles for talented people leaders and other subject-matter experts are available as well.
