Marco Bassetto is a senior economist and research advisor in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He was on leave of absence absence at University College London in 2014-15. Bassetto's research focuses on applications of game theory to macroeconomics and the design and consistency of macroeconomic policy.
Bassetto’s research has been published in Econometrica, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Economic Theory, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Review of Economic Studies and the Review of Economic Dynamics. Before joining the Chicago Fed in July 2005, Bassetto was an assistant professor at the University of Minnesota.
Bassetto received a B.A. from Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) and a Ph.D in economics from the University of Chicago.
