Steve Erlebacher is senior director of strategy for DeVry, Inc. In this role, he works with DeVry’s institutions, including American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, Becker Professional Education, Carrington Colleges Group, Chamberlain College of Nursing, DeVry Brasil, DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management and Ross University Schools of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine to ensure they deliver high quality, career-oriented education to their students. Before joining DeVry, he served in a similar role for Kaplan Higher Education. Prior to his work in private sector higher education, Erlebacher was a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamiltion (now Booz & Company) and Helios Consulting. He has also served as an assistant professor of operations and manufacturing management in the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.
Erlebacher serves as a board member of the Chicago Board of Governors for Israel Bonds, Akiba Schechter Day School, and the Program in Jewish Culture and Society at the University of Illinois.
Erlebacher received his B.S. in mathematics and economics, summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
