Legislative Day at the Chicago Fed

Given the increasing focus that policymakers and the American public are placing on the nation’s economy, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago designed a half-day informative session for the congressional staff of the Seventh District Federal Reserve congressional offices to better inform them about recent developments in the national and regional economy. The “Legislative Day at the Chicago Fed” featured briefings on the national and regional economy from our top research economists, as well as a policy briefing on the housing market and foreclosure crisis. Also, as a part of the day’s activities, members of the Chicago Fed’s economic education team discussed our popular financial literacy and economic education programs that occur throughout our district. A light lunch will also be served, followed by an optional tour of our Money Museum after lunch.
