APPG Eighth Annual Business Leaders of Color Panel Discussion

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's African American Association for Personal and Professional Growth (APPG) extended and invite to attend the eighth annual Business Leaders of Color Panel Discussion and Networking Reception on December 3, 2015 at 4:30 pm. The APPG hosts this event each year to recognize Chicago United Business Leaders of Color and to provide a forum to share their insights and celebrate their success. The theme for the event is “Profession vs. Purpose.” The panel discussed the moderated by WGN-TV reporter and CLTV weekend anchor, Gaynor Hall. During the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with dynamic business leaders in the Chicago area who participate on — as well as chair — corporate boards, energize organizations and communities and help empower and promote emerging leaders. Each panelist offered a unique perspective and serves as both an example and an inspiration through cultural, civic and educational contributions.
Discussion topics included the following:
- Blending your occupation with that which you’re most passionate
- Bringing your authentic self to the workplace
- Benefits of volunteerism and board participation for professionals at all levels
The event took place in the Michael Moskow Auditorium of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and began at 4:30 pm with a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, followed by the panel discussion at 5:30 pm and networking from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm to conclude the evening.
