Hyun Song Shin was appointed Economic Adviser and Head of Research of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) on 1 May 2014. He is a member of the Bank’s Executive Committee.

Before joining the BIS, Dr. Shin was the Hughes-Rogers Professor of Economics at Princeton University. In 2010, on leave from Princeton, he served as senior adviser to President Lee Myung-Bak, taking a leading role in formulating financial stability policy in Korea and developing the agenda for the G20 during Korea's presidency. From 2000 to 2005, he was Professor of Finance at the London School of Economics.

Stephen G. Cecchetti is the Rosen Family Chair in International Finance at the Brandeis International Business School, research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, and research fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research. Previously, he was economic adviser and head of the Monetary and Economic Department at the Bank for International Settlements, director of research at the New York Fed, and editor of the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking. Cecchetti has published widely in academic and policy journals, is the author of a leading textbook in money and banking, and blogs at moneyandbanking.com.

Kermit Schoenholtz is the Henry Kaufman Professor of the History of Financial Institutions and Markets in the Economics Department at the NYU Stern School of Business. He also directs the Stern Center for Global Economy and Business.

Schoenholtz serves on the Financial Research Advisory Committee of the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Financial Research. He also is a panel member of the U.S. Monetary Policy Forum and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Schoenholtz co-authors a textbook on money, banking and financial markets and a related blog at moneyandbanking.com.

Jón Steinsson is a Chancellor's Professor of Economics at the University of California at Berkeley. He received a bachelor‘s degree in economics from Princeton University in 2000 and a PhD in economics from Harvard University in 2007. Jón taught at Columbia University from 2008 to 2018 before moving to Berkeley. He is co-director of the Monetary Economics program of the National Bureau of Economic Research. His main area of research is empirical macroeconomics with a focus on price setting, identifying the effects of monetary and fiscal policies, and understanding the effects of forward guidance.
