About
Emma Weiss is a senior financial markets specialist in the Financial Markets Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. She conducts research and analysis related to financial markets and financial market infrastructures, particularly those in the Seventh District, and with a focus on financial stability.
Before joining the Chicago Fed, she spent ten years on the open market operations Trading Desk of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. There she held leadership positions related to gathering financial market intelligence and analyzing U.S. Treasury and agency mortgage-backed securities markets. She also led the Desk’s financial market analysis training program for new associates. Prior to that, she was the director of research and special projects at the Paulson Institute and was a reporter for financial newswires.
She holds a master’s degree in international economics from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Studies from Yale University.
