The Chicago Fed Survey of Economic Conditions (CFSEC) Activity Index increased to –10 in March from –13 in February, suggesting that economic growth was below trend. The CFSEC Manufacturing Activity Index decreased to –12 in March from +3 in February, but the CFSEC Nonmanufacturing Activity Index increased to –9 in March from –25 in the previous month.
