The geographic distribution of financial institutions in Chicago

Financial institutions provide a number of important services, including checking accounts or other means of payment, a variety of media for savings, safekeeping, and credit of various types, that are essential to the efficient functioing of a modern economy. The quality of these services and the terms on which they are available have a major effect on consumer welfare.
