CHICAGO- (March 11, 2025) – The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago today announced the appointment of Dr. Philomena Mantella, president of Grand Valley State University, to the Detroit board of directors. The role was effective February 3.
The Detroit Board of Directors is comprised of seven members who provides insights to the Federal Reserve System's understanding of economic conditions and helps to inform deliberations of the Federal Open Market Committee.
Dr. Mantella has been appointed to a three-year term from 2025-2027 to fill the vacancy created when James Nicholson completed seven years of service at the end of 2024.
