Our District

At the Chicago Fed, we serve the public, fostering economic opportunity by advancing a healthy economy and promoting a trusted financial system. We contribute to the formulation and implementation of national monetary policy, supervise and regulate designated financial institutions, and provide financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government. We serve the Seventh Federal Reserve District, which comprises Iowa and most of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. We are part of the Federal Reserve System, which is made up of 12 regional Reserve Banks and the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C.

Request a Speaker

As part of the Chicago Fed’s outreach and education efforts, Bank economists, researchers and subject matter experts may be available for speeches to civic, educational and nonprofit organizations. Speaking requests will be evaluated based on Federal Reserve blackout date schedule, speaker availability, the forum and subject matter. The recommended audience size is at least 50 people. Please submit request at least 60 days before your event to allow sufficient time for preparation.

Central Bank Services

Central Bank Services (CBS) is a division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago that provides Statistics and Financial Reporting (including National Information Center/Structure, Regulatory, and Monetary/Deposit reports) and Credit Risk Management services (including Discount Window, Reserves Administration, and Payment System Risk) to support monetary policy, financial stability, and supervisory activities of the Chicago Fed and Federal Reserve System.
