Changing Hispanic Demographics: Opportunities and Constraints in the Financial Market
From 1990 to 2000, the Chicago metropolitan statistical area’s Hispanic population grew by 600,000, or 68.7%. This population segment is young and relatively low income—this means that financial literacy programs may be very important in opening this market to mainstream financial services.
