
Joel David is a senior economist on the macroeconomics team in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. His research focuses on firm dynamics and resource allocations, investment and financial markets. His work has been published in several academic journals including the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Journal of Monetary Economics.
Before joining the Chicago Fed in June 2019, Joel served as an assistant professor of economics at the University of Southern California. He received a B.A. in economics from the George Washington University and a Ph.D. in economics from UCLA.
