Midwest Manufacturing Output Increases in December
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) rose 0.5% from November to
December, reaching a seasonally adjusted level of 137.5 (1992=100). Revised data show the
index was at 136.8 in November, and had risen 0.4% from October. The Federal Reserve
Board’s industrial production index for manufacturing (IPMFG) increased 0.2% in December,
after rising 0.6% in November. December output in the region was 4.7% higher than a year
earlier, while output in the nation was 5.1% higher.
