Midwest Manufacturing Output Gains 0.5% in October
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) rose by 0.5% from September to
October, reaching a record seasonally adjusted level of 135.4 (1992=100); revised data show the
index fell 0.2% in September. The Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index for
manufacturing (IPMFG) increased 0.6% in October after rising 0.1% in September. October
output in the region was 3.4% higher than a year earlier, compared to a slightly higher 3.7%
increase nationally.
