Midwest Manufacturing Output Declines Sharply in November
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) fell 1.1% from October to
November, reaching a seasonally adjusted level of 170.4 (1992=100). Revised data show
the index was at 172.4 in October, and had fallen 0.4% from September. The Federal
Reserve Board’s industrial production index for manufacturing (IPMFG) declined 0.5%
in November after having fallen by 0.1% in October. November output in the region
was 5.5% higher than a year earlier, while output in the nation was 4.7% higher.
