Midwest Manufacturing Output Rises in March
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) rose 0.9% in March, to a
seasonally adjusted level of 117.0 (1997=100). Revised data show the index increased
1.7% in February, to 116.0. The Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index for
manufacturing (IPMFG) was up 0.1% in March. Regional output in March was 6.7%
higher than a year earlier, a larger increase than the nation’s 3.8%.
