Midwest Manufacturing Output Unchanged in January
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) was unchanged in January,
at a seasonally adjusted level of 118.4 (1997=100). Revised data show the index edged
down 0.1% in December, to 118.3. The Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production
index for manufacturing (IPMFG) rose 0.4% in January. Regional output in January was
3.1% higher than a year earlier, a bit lower than the nation’s 5.0% increase.
