Midwest Manufacturing Output Rises in March
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) rose 0.6% in March, to a seasonally
adjusted level of 114.9 (2002=100). Revised data show the index rose 0.5% in February,
to 114.2. The Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index for manufacturing
(IPMFG) rose 0.5% in March. Regional output in March was 5.5% higher than a year
earlier, slightly more than the national output’s 5.2% increase.
