Survey Shows Growth Increased in July and Early August
The Chicago Fed Survey of Business Conditions (CFSBC) Activity Index increased to −22 from −30, suggesting that growth in economic activity remained at a modest pace in July and early August. The CFSBC Manufacturing Activity Index moved down to −39 from –34, while the CFSBC Nonmanufacturing Activity Index moved up to –13 from –26.
