Lean Years in Agricultural Banking
There is by now little doubt that the problems of agriculture have adversely affected the performance of rural banks. Since 1982 agriculturally oriented banks have experienced increasing levels of loan losses and problem loans, resulting in greatly reduced earnings rates.
